· Main Research questions
• Current train arrival time prediction systems are having less accuracy level – currently, trains are tracked by using one GPS module or movements of GPS available devices in the train or vehicle, but the weather changes and longitude and latitude changes are not considered.
• Not having a proper method to inform brake down - If a train has been broken down, the engine driver has to tell over the phone where the actual location is, to get a support team.
• Passengers do not have a system to monitor the actual location of the train – because of does not have a proper way to check the train actual location passengers have to wait more time at stations or they could have missed their train. Otherwise, a train has been braked down passengers does not have a way to get know about that, until railway station announced it.
• Assist the driver to prevent accidents – most of the time some countries like Sri Lanka do not have gates for each road cross the railway. Because of that, there is a high probability to happen an accident in this type of situation. Even though the gate is available it may not be working properly. Moreover, Elephants and humans are walk through the railway, even though the SMS system is available, still more accidents are been happen yearly.
